Paradise Printed & Bound / Book Arts in Northampton & Beyond
Edited by Barbara B. Blumenthal
With an essay each by Barbara Blumenthal, Barbara Bannon and David Bourbeau
Published by the 350th Anniversary Committee of Northampton, Massachusetts, 2004.
Paradise Printed & Bound celebrates the activities of printers, publishers, book artists, papermakers, bookbinders, and others involved in the book arts in Northampton, Massachusetts, and vicinity. The book contains an historical overview by the editor; Barbara Bannon remembers the Hampshire Bookshop; David P. Bourbeau recalls Leonard Baskin and The Gehenna Press. A census of book workers and organizations in the area from 1954 to 2004 completes the generously illustrated volume. The book is a who's who in the western Massachusetts fine book arts world.
